Poor Mordran.  (Evil grin.)  I like the idea of both his and Victoria's parents deciding to move from passive-aggressive to actively abrasive in their "split those two up" strategies.  Victoria's parents think Mordran is beneath her, and -- oddly enough -- his parents feel the same way.  They feel more loyalty to their royal family (who they are bound by honor and tradition to protect in every possible way) than to their son, who they see as having scandalously betrayed his proper station.
