Naturally, demotion wouldn't go over well for Felincia -- she's so rank-conscious that she was complaining about staying "stuck" as a beta just a few months ago.  Thing is, though, she's moved out; she's not there most of the time; she's really not the oldest child of the family anymore, not functionally.  It's high time the next two oldest (Davin, now Sasha) get their chance to be top of the pecking order.  Sometimes it takes the oldest child moving out for the middle children to bloom.
