Look!  Lettie and "Georgie" did manage to find Alassa!  Not that it would have been that difficult, if she were in the classroom for her remedial class, which she must have been.  Alassa's trying to work just a smidgen harder on schoolwork nowadays, since she's so angry that Aylia's here in school and already miles ahead of her, so it's got to rankle that her mother just pulled her out of a class she was already galled to be in.  Fortunately, she's pretty easy to manipulate!
