My feeling that I needed to create a character for Shada intensified after she created her own comic strip (which she did about a year before she put it online), and based one of her main characters on me.  (Shada's comic strip is Nowhere University, and the character based on me is here, by the way.)  For six months, I actively tried to come up with a character for her, but to no avail -- every time I came up with a possibility, the character wound up not working.  It drove me crazy!
