Should be obvious, but as we've only ever met one family of werewolves, it still bears mentioning: fourteen kids is not a normal size for each werewolf family.  Werewolves tend to average about as many kids as all the human families within their continent.  Thing is, however, Felincia's parents both wanted a large family, and they both missed having a social structure with a large number of people, so they kept on going with children till they'd created their own.
