Sage Hinkarilin hasn't met any of these mermaids before, but a quick glance with his power is enough to tell him what their names are and a glimpse of their history.  He doesn't particularly care about their names or their personalities, but Kuralla's question sparked a smidge of curiosity about their musical history, so he glanced back at that for all four of them without thinking.  Melody, as you recall, likes both main types of mermaid music, so she's also played a lot that's pretty.
