Poor Albert doesn't quite get the distinction here.  Like his father, he doesn't care that much for any sort of social gatherings, though at least he isn't terrified at the thought of being forced to try his hand at diplomacy.  (More "mystified," really.)  He doesn't hate social situations, or even particularly dislike them, he just doesn't get what someone's supposed to do with them.  And he really doesn't see what the distinction between this party and the type Aylia hates would be.
