I needed some way to make Aylia leaving for the wizarding school interesting, so this jumped out for me.  Whether or not Aylia's been planning to go there for most of her life, whether or not she thinks she is ready for anything, there will always be a few things that just plain slip people's minds -- even if they're obsessive and brilliant.  Aylia's human -- so until the last few months, she's never even considered that she might end up living in the nonhuman building.  Hence, she's forgotten a few details.
