And this is how Loretta reacts to the news!  (Grin.)  She and her family just got back from vacation, so she hadn't heard it earlier, and of course she wasn't there to witness the "proposal."  :P  Like everyone else, she's startled that they're moving so quickly, but she also sees this as exasperatingly in character for her friend.  Whenever he puts his mind to do something, he does ignore all practical considerations and moves quickly.  I imagine that's how the tattoos happened, too, back in high school.
