It's difficult to surprise an Oracle!  The thing is, future-seeing doesn't work with futures that are just possibilities -- Oracles can only see things that are inevitable, somehow, in the future, because of people's current or past choices.  But if you get a well-trained Oracle, and plan out something to surprise her -- well, she's very likely to see something about your plans next time she peeks at your future, even if it's fairly vague.  And then there are Sages, who can actually peek back at you planning things . . .
