By the way, "Hotfire" is Daria's last name . . . sort of.  Like in desert Gorgon society, dragon last names are titles, but unlike desert Gorgon society, they're titles that only other people can bestow on you.  Daria chose hers randomly when asked to give a last name to come to this school, so it's not official or anything.  But then, dragon last names are never really that official, anyway -- they can change throughout your life, depending on what you happen to be known for currently.
