Soon after going to college, I discovered that my school had a medieval club called The Quill and the Sword.  Of course I had to join it, and I had a blast going every week.  Unfortunately, after my freshman year, I ceased to have time to go that often, though I did continue to pop in occasionally.  Anyway, since I drew a large chunk of my first hundred strips while in Club meetings, and Loretta is based on one of my fellow Club friends, I figured it would be only appropriate if she joined a medieval club.
