Of course, it occurred to me that if X knew how to make a weightlessness potion, she's probably known how to do them for awhile.  But if she'd learned how from Aylia's father's books, we probably would have seen her playing with it before.  So I realized that she must have figured it out from her father's books, and she and her sister used to play with them all the time, until they got caught.  In other words, X hasn't made one for ages just because the thought hasn't crossed her mind until now.
