Daria's been here for about two weeks now, I'd guess, so she will have had a few escapades that we haven't seen in the comic strip.  That's also, of course, why Cecelia would wonder whether Daria had eaten yet, since she hadn't seen Daria do it, and Daria had been there long enough for this to become a concern.  By the way, it's not entirely normal for dragons to wait a whole month before eating -- Daria's unusual in that, too.  Most eat once a week, or a little more or less frequently.
