By the way, my friend who designed this character for my comic strip also had extremely specific ideas of what her character's boyfriend should look like.  She drew a picture of her favorite anime hairstyle for guys, showed it to me, and informed me that her character's boyfriend was going to have this hairstyle.  She drew his hairstyle better, but I think he still wound up looking cute in my very-simplistic art style!  :P
