Anyway, I'm glad I have such high self-esteem.  I told myself it was their loss, and I didn't want to be friends with anyone who wouldn't accept me as I was in the first place (which is the truth).  I became friends with a lot of the teachers, and I spent most of my lunchtimes in the library (which was where I wanted to be, anyway). Oddly enough, the other kids seemed to respect me after awhile . . . guess that's what happens when you're sure of yourself.
