As I was writing that last description, I got so many ideas that I sat down and started designing the whole game right then and there.  It's finished now, and the rules for it are available here.  Or, if you don't want to link to them from this strip, you can get to them through the extras section -- they're probably not perfect, but I've played the game with those rules, and it's fun.  So enjoy!
