Oh, yes, and another important thing this series did was that it allowed me to explain what kind of books Aylia is always reading -- they're books of magic, not novels or textbooks or anything like that.  I'm always reading fantasy books, but Aylia doesn't care much about fiction.  She's studying to be a wizard -- that's what's important in her life.  I thought I probably ought to clarify that, as well.
